We worked with a property developer to design a mansard loft conversion and rear extension. The property was a large but overlooked family home in North London with fantastic potential.
The focus for this home was to improve the layout and increase available space. We achieved this by extending into the courtyard and designing a mansard loft conversion.
In order to maintain a good amount of natural light, we designed a light-well through both storeys of the rear extension. It serves both the ground floor living room as it’s only source of natural light, and the second storey kitchen extension. The mansard roof was also a really exciting opportunity to keep some valuable outdoor space and add an extra bedroom.
Interior 3D visualisation also helped us to see what the spaces look like before starting the build. This means crucial design changes could be made really cost-effectively. We could also show different furniture and finishes so that our client ensures they are getting exactly what they want.
