We worked with a property developer to design a kitchen extension and loft conversion with ensuite. The property was a terraced family home in London with lots of natural light and small garden. However it also had lots of potential for more living and bedroom space.
Our services included full Architectural Design including the planning application, construction drawings, and gathering and comparing quotes. The design focus was to keep as much of the natural light as possible, but also increase room space.
During the project we used a combination of 2D CAD draughting and 3D visualisation. By producing CGIs, we were able to see the impact of design changes really quickly and cost-effectively. Consequently, our design is both bright and airy.
The rear and side kitchen extension has large patio doors which lead to the small garden. Lots of skylights and a large window at the back of the extension also help to flood the room with light. The large window looks onto a secluded courtyard that we wanted to stay as outdoor space. It helps to bring natural light right into the middle of the home, and can also be accessed from the study. We left the old side brick wall exposed in the kitchen running from the courtyard right through the garden. As a result, the kitchen feels even more connected to the outdoors.
